FM Timber Ltd

The Group parent company FM Timber Ltd was established in 1997 in Pihtipudas Northern Central Finland. FM Timber is a family company which has grown in the past decade into a notable sawn timber and bioenergy producer. The subsidiary company Timber Heat Ltd was established in 2000 to produce heat out of wood residues for kiln chambers and the local municipality of Pihtipudas. In 2006 the company expanded to Russia by buying the ZAO Karlis-Prom sawmill company from the Russian village of Värtsilä. ZAO Karlis-Prom has been raising the group production by 100 % and widening the product portfolio up to 100x250 being the maximum size. In 2010 FM Timber bought Kiihtelysvaara mill. The mill is focusing on kiln-drying, quality grading and packing the sawn timber coming from ZAO Karlis Prom.

The group sawn timber production is 150 000 m³ ( 60/40 Spruce and Pine ). Heat production out of saw residues is 60 GWh. Värtsilä is producing biomass for bioenergy producers 127 GWh. The group turnover is Eur 31 million and it employs 127 people. We export 85 % out of our production.
